About Daqing
Daqing (simplified Chinese: 大庆; traditional Chinese: 大慶; pinyin: Dàqìng) is a prefecture-level city in the west of Heilongjiang province, People's Republic of China. The name literally means "Great Celebration" and refers to the tenth anniversary of the PRC.
Daqing is home to China's largest oil reserves. The city was founded in 1959 to house oil industry workers and workers in related industries. The city name means "great celebration" for finding the rich oil fields.

The airport is conveniently located 20km from the city center. Airport shuttle buses connect the airport to the city center, though it is not a popular choice for travelers.
Getting around
Daqing's main forms of public transportation are buses, taxis and ride-hailing services. Shared bicycles and electric bicycles are also available in some areas. Buses serve most districts of Daqing. The basic fare is ¥2, and passengers can pay by scanning a QR code. Metered taxis are available throughout the city and can be used for travel between districts and major attractions. Ride-hailing services such as DiDi are widely available in Daqing. They can be a convenient option for travelers who prefer to book a car through a mobile app.
