About Dezhou
Dezhou (Chinese: 德州; pinyin: Dézhōu) is a prefecture-level city in northwestern Shandong province, People's Republic of China. It borders the provincial capital of Jinan to the southeast, Liaocheng to the southwest, Binzhou to the northeast, and the province of Hebei to the north.
Dezhou City, referred to as "De" and called Ande in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city in the northwest of Shandong Province and the alluvial plain of the lower reaches of the Yellow River. As of the end of 2022, the city's permanent population is 5.6 million. The "virtue" of Dezhou comes from the "virtue of water". Deshui is another name for the ancient Yellow River. In the 3rd year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (583 AD), "Ande" was changed to "Dezhou". Dezhou is located in Shandong Province and has a long history.
