About Kaluga

Kaluga is a city and the administrative center of Kaluga Oblast, Russia. It stands on the Oka River 150 kilometers (93 mi) southwest of Moscow.

The city is located on both banks of the Oka River and on its tributary, the Yachenka River, 160 km from Moscow. Kaluga is a city with a developed infrastructure, a major transport hub, one of the scientific, cultural, economic and spiritual centers of Russia. Mechanical engineering and automobile construction are actively developed. The city is one of the historical centers of Russia, where a large number of architectural monuments have been preserved.
