About Ketapang
Ketapang Regency is a regency in the south of the province of West Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo in Indonesia. Until 2007 Ketapang Regency occupied an area of 34,120 km2 (roughly the same land area as the Kingdom of the Netherlands), but on 2 January 2007 five districts in the north-west of the regency were carved out to form a new North Kayong Regency.
Some of the Ketapang regency's area were splitted into North Kayong regency on 2 January 2007. In Ketapang, summers are short and hot, winters are brief and warm, and it is generally hot, rainy, and cloudy throughout the year. Based on coastal/pool scores, the best time to visit Ketapang for hot weather activities is from May to October.
