About Maragheh
Maragheh (Persian: مراغه) is a city in the Central District of Maragheh County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. Maragheh is on the bank of the river Sufi Chay.
Most of the Maragheh residents consider themselves Iranian Azerbaijani. Maragheh was the capital of Ilkhanid Dynasty for a short time in thirteenth century.
