About Ningde
Ningde, previously romanized as Ningteh and Ning-Taik, is a city located along the northeastern coast of Fujian, China. It borders the provincial capital of Fuzhou City to the south, Wenzhou Prefecture of Zhejiang to the north, and Nanping to the west.
The city of Ningde is near the southern border of the prefecture. There is some spectacular scenery in Ningde prefecture, but mainly well outside of Ningde city itself. Ningde has a long history, dating back to the Qin and Han dynasties, and has undergone numerous political and cultural changes over time. As an important port on the Maritime Silk Road, Ningde has a rich maritime culture and trade background, and still preserves a wealth of traditional and cultural heritage today.
