About Qaem Shahr
Qaem Shahr (Persian: قائمشهر; ) which was named Shahi before 1979 Revolution) is a city in the Central District of Qaem Shahr County, Mazandaran province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. Originally known as Šâhi (Shahi), the name was used until the Iranian Revolution in 1979 when the city acquired its current name.
Ghaemshahr city's population is over 300,000 including suburbs and villages around the city. It was home to a major textile industry, which was one of the biggest companies of textile in the world, with exporting to many countries in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. Ghaemshahr has many industrial towns around and is full of different type of factories. Although the city is not famous for its beauty, it is a good base to explore the region, as most of Mazandaran and Caspian coast is very beautiful.
