About

About Seremban

Seremban (Negeri Sembilan Malay: Somban) is a city in the Seremban District and the capital of the state of Negeri Sembilan in Peninsular Malaysia. The city's administration is run by the Seremban City Council.

Like most other cities on the West Coast of Malaysia, Seremban is populated by citizens of Malay, Chinese and Indian ethnicity (called separate "races" in Malaysia). The major languages spoken in the city are Malay (the national language), Tamil, Cantonese (especially by the elder generation), and Mandarin (spoken more by the younger generation). Seremban is seldom regarded as a main tourist attraction. It is located between Melaka (70 km south) and Kuala Lumpur (60 km north).

Do

Enjoy a walk at Seremban's Lake Gardens especially during sunset. The A&W fastfood restaurant is also located by the side of the Lake, to offer great lakeside view. The Lake Gardens is a favourite park for joggers and anglers alike. Well maintained pathways around the lake makes strolls a leisure. Located nearby the lake is the recreational forest in which nature lovers can enjoy the biodiversity it has to offer. Seremban is not a major tourist attraction but stopping a night at Seremban before a departure flight from KLIA is enjoyable.

Getting around

Driving around Seremban is quite tough during the day with constant streams of busy traffic, but it's not as bad as Kuala Lumpur or Penang Island due to its volume. Road traffic volume increases during the weekends and public holidays as people who work in nearby major cities return. Traffic gets less busy away from the Seremban and Port Dickson toll plazas (towards Seremban 2) and Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik).
