About Sumy
Sumy is a city in northeastern Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Sumy Oblast.
Sumy was founded in the 17th century by Cossacks as a fortress. During long period of time city was one of the centres in Slobozhanschina (historical province between Russia and Ukraine). Now Sumy is a centre of the province (oblast).
