About Tanza
Tanza, officially the Municipality of Tanza (Tagalog: Bayan ng Tanza), is a municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2024 census, it has a population of 339,308 people.
Formerly known as Santa Cruz de Malabon, Tanza was originally part of San Francisco de Malabon (now General Trias) and was settled as part of extensive pastoral landholdings created during the Spanish era. The area saw some of the major battles of the Philippine Revolution against Spain from 1896 to 1897 and briefly hosted the revolutionary government of General Emilio Aguinaldo. Its current name was adopted in 1914.
