About Tarlac City
Tarlac City, officially the City of Tarlac, is a first-class component city and capital of the province of Tarlac, Philippines. According to the 2024 census, it has a population of 401,892 people, making it the most populous in the province.
Previously a part of a larger municipality of Porac in Pampanga during Spanish times, Tarlac City's residents are mostly Kapampangan speakers, but ethnically, a mix of Kapampangan, Ilocano, and Tagalog. It became the capital of Tarlac province upon its establishment in 1872 and became a legally-designated city in 1998.
