About Tongren

Tongren (simplified Chinese: 铜仁; traditional Chinese: 銅仁; pinyin: Tóngrén) is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guizhou province, People's Republic of China, located within a tobacco planting and crop agricultural area. Tongren was known as Tongren Prefecture (铜仁地区) until November 2011, when it was converted into a prefecture-level city.

Tongren City, a prefecture-level city in Guizhou Province, is located in the northeastern part of Guizhou Province, in the hinterland of Wuling Mountains, adjacent to Huaihua City in Hunan Province in the east, bordering Chongqing City in the north, high in the northwest and low in the southeast. In 2020, the resident population of Tongren City was 3.3 million. Tongren has 2 national nature reserves, 3 national scenic spots, 9 provincial scenic spots, 1 national mine park, and 1 national karst geopark.

Tongren She Rice (铜仁社饭) Tongren She Rice is a traditional food in Tongren, Guizhou.The production method is very precise and the materials are rich. It is made of glutinous rice mixed with artemisia vegetables, shallots, garlic sprouts, diced bacon, walnut kernels, dried wax beans, and peanut kernels. Soft and delicious, it is suitable for all ages. Sinan Huatianba (思南花甜粑) Huatianba is made from glutinous rice and sticky rice as the main raw materials. The taste is sweet and delicious, and it is a must-have food for the locals during the Chinese New Year. Cold folded ear root (凉拌折耳根) Folded ear root has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxifying.

Drink

Tujia sesame sugar wine (土家麻糖酒) Only about 20 °C, the color is golden and transparent, and the flavor is unique. Fanjing Mountain Tribute Tea (梵净山贡茶) The color is bright, the amino acid and protein content is high, and it is rich in trace elements such as selenium and zinc necessary for the human body. It is rich in nutrients, has a fresh and mellow taste, and has a long-lasting fragrance.
