About Yuncheng
Yuncheng (simplified Chinese: 运城; traditional Chinese: 運城) is the southernmost prefecture-level city in Shanxi province, People's Republic of China. It borders Linfen and Jincheng municipalities to the north and east, and Henan (Luoyang and Jiyuan to the east, Sanmenxia to the south) and Shaanxi (Weinan) provinces to the east, south and west, respectively.
Yuncheng is a prefecture-level city in Shanxi Province, China, located in the southwestern part of the province, bordering Shaanxi and Henan. With a long history, Yuncheng is one of the important cradles of Chinese civilization and boasts abundant cultural heritage and tourism resources. It is the hometown of Guan Yu and the birthplace of Emperor Shun, a descendant of the Yellow Emperor, earning it the title of the "Source of Virtue and Filial Piety." Yuncheng is home to famous attractions such as the Salt Lake (China's "Dead Sea"), Yongle Palace, and Jiezhou Guan Yu Temple.
