Zanjan is a city in the Central District of Zanjan County, Zanjan province, Iran, serving as capital of the province, the county, and the district.Zanjan's population boasts the highest level of happiness among the people of 30 other provinces in Iran, according to a detailed survey conducted by Isna.
Azerbaijani or Azeri, a Turkic dialect, is the primary language spoken by most Zanjanis, although many people, especially the younger generation, can communicate in Farsi and English up to some level.

Getting in
There are multiple daily trains from Tehran heading for Tabriz. Two trains a week are from Van in Turkey, with connections from Ankara. Zanjan railway station (ایستگاه راه آهن بین المللی زنجان) is by the river south edge of city centre.
