Frankston ( FRANK-stən) is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Located 39 km (24 mi) south-east of the Melbourne central business district, it is in the local government area of the City of Frankston and serves as its administrative and activity centres.

Frankston is a town 40 km from Melbourne on the edge of Port Phillip Bay often referred to as the "Gateway to the Mornington Peninsula". Frankston is where the electric train line terminates. If you are a backpacker heading to the Mornington Peninsula, French Island or Phillip Island chances are you're going to go through Frankston.
