About Kasukabe
Kasukabe (春日部市, Kasukabe-shi) is a city located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It was one of the special cities of Japan until their abolition in 2015.
Kasukabe is a city of over 200,000 people, in eastern Saitama prefecture. It is the setting of the manga cartoon stories Lucky Star (らき☆すた) and Crayon Shin-chan (クレヨンしんちゃん). The local tourist association has a Japanese-only guide site.

Getting in
Kasukabe Station (春日部駅) is served by the Tobu Urban Park line (connect to JR at Ōmiya and the Tobu Skytree line (connect to JR at Shin-Koshigaya). From Tokyo, take JR train to Ōmiya for Tobu Urban Park line or Kita-Senju for Tobu Skytree line. Minami-Sakurai Station (南桜井駅), in the heart of town, is served by Tobu Urban Park line. From the Tohoku Expressway's Iwatsuki Interchange, take Highway 16 towards Noda for about 17 km (30 minutes). From the Jouban Expressway's Kashiwa Interchange, take Highway 16 towards Noda for about 20 km (40 minutes).
Getting around
The city's Haru Bus serves three routes, on Monday through Saturday, for a few hundred yen per ride. Given that, you might find a taxi (about ¥1000 across town) to be faster and more convenient, though more expensive.
