About

About Naic

Naic, officially the Municipality of Naic (Tagalog: Bayan ng Naic), is a municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2024 census, it has a population of 236,978 people.

Naic was established in the 18th century as part of Maragondon. The area saw some of the major battles of the Philippine Revolution against Spain from 1896 to 1897 and briefly hosted the revolutionary government of Andres Bonifacio during his brief civil war with Emilio Aguinaldo that culminated in the former's execution. Naic is undergoing urbanization since the 2000s, with the eastern part of town being converted into industrial estates and middle-class gated subdivisions. Despite this, Naic retains a sizeable small-scale fishing fleet and beach resorts along Manila Bay.
