The nearest airports are the ones in Munich and Salzburg (Austria). Rosenheim can be reached from these airports by train, which takes about 90 minutes. Rosenheim has one train station, Bahnhof Rosenheim where regional, national and international trains take you to your desired destination. The German police, as of 2025, has been checking IDs/passports on all trains headed into the country. This may result in delays as in some cases the trains will wait on the platform, particularly if your train is headed from Kufstein.
Getting around
Generally speaking, it is easy to get around the city center by foot or bike; the distance to Rosenheim train station is 1 km (bus service Monday to Saturday). Especially during the summer months, visitors can rent a bike at the Weißer Rabe, which is located in front of the train station and operated by unemployed people and they offer bike repair and rent. For longer distances, Rosenheim has a very well developed bus system. Besides regional bus lines, there are 12 city lines and 4 night lines.
