About
About Tongchuan
Tongchuan (simplified Chinese: 铜川; traditional Chinese: 銅川; pinyin: Tóngchuān; lit. 'copper river') is a prefecture-level city located in central Shaanxi province, People's Republic of China on the southern fringe of the Loess Plateau that defines the northern half of the province (Shanbei) and the northern reaches of the Guanzhong Plain.
Tongchuan combines cultural depth with natural beauty. As a key stop on the way to Yan'an and the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, Tongchuan holds significant geographical and historical importance. The city's terrain transitions from the low hills and mountains in the north to the Guanzhong Plain in the south. It has a temperate continental climate with pleasant springs and autumns, hot summers, and cold winters.
