About Wuhai

Wuhai (Chinese: 乌海市; Mongolian: Üqai qota, Mongolian Cyrillic: Үхай хот) is a prefecture-level city and regional center in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, and is by area the smallest prefecture-level division of the region. It is located on the Yellow River between the Gobi and Ordos deserts.

Wuhai is located on the Yellow River between the Gobi and Ordos deserts, It is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, bordering Ordos in the northeast across the Gander Mountains, facing Shizuishan City across the river in the south, and Alxa League in the west. The total area is 1,754 square kilometers.and has a population of just over 250,000. Summers are hot and dry; most precipitation is in winter. Winter temperatures are mild by Mongolian standards but still often well below freezing.
