About Anyang

Anyang is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. With a population of approximately 600,000, it is the 20th largest city in South Korea.

Anyang is bordered by Uiwang to the east, Gwangmyeong, Siheung, and Ansan to the west, Gunpo to the south, and Seoul’s Geumcheon and Gwanak districts as well as Gwacheon to the north. The Pyeongchon New Town area is famous for its strong emphasis on education. It has the highest concentration of private academies in Gyeonggi Province, and local schools consistently achieve high admission rates to prestigious special-purpose high schools nationwide. Anyang is a city just southwest of Seoul.
